If you don't want the material they will instruct you to leave it on your front porch, or with a neighbor for pick up the next day. UPS and Fedex have services exactly for this.
If you want a back up I'd explain the situation and they will extend you a huge discount that will make you happy.
Remember that their job isn't to hastle you with unexpected shipments - but to make you a satisfied customer.

Legally they CANNOT charge you for something that they sent you that you did not order. That's mail fraud. Got a free Fender P from zZounds that way.

That is different. Negotiating a price is just as much seller beware as buyer beware. And sellers sometimes deliberately lose on a given deal, in order to encourage other aspects of the business.

Yup. They called me about 18 months later, asking me how I'd like to pay for it. I told her what she was doing was mail fraud. She put me on hold for 10 seconds, came back and said, "Alright sir, we'll take care of that for you. You have a nice day". She hung up before I could even say thank you. Never heard from them again, not even a catalog.

I ordered a camera a few years ago from Amazon. It never came, so I called them and they shipped another one. Months later, lo and behold, the camera arrives on my doorstep. At first, I was all like " Suckas !" But after a day or so, my conscious got me, I called `em, they were pleasantly surprised at my honesty. They asked me to pay for return shipping and credited my account for the amount.

I can't think of a single valid reason to send it back. It's not like MF is a paragoon of morality in the first place or is going to miss the money.
Hell, if your conscience prevents you from keeping it as a backup, give it away to somebody who really needs an amp. I'd probably do that.

MF properly got insurance for that kind of incidences too, so actually it's the moralless insurance companies that suffers, and they can properly write it all off in taxes anyhow by some loop hole in the law.
So in that way we are all paying for you taking that amp. That's not fair.... But since we are so many of us, I'll let you have this one.

Go for it, take it... You know you want to!

Question: if you list a bass for $300 when you meant $500,
and it is not a typo but your error,
And someone calls you and says "I'll take it"...

Who is the dishonest person in the transaction if you refuse to sell to him for that price??

I wouldn't send it back. MF is a big organization that his made its money so many times over. Why?? I used to work a corporate job, and we used to give away so many freebies and periodically spend ridiculous $$ on dinners that consisted mostly of booze.
Executives waste even more money than I did, but consumers choose to keep giving it up.
Enjoy the bonus dude! Look at it as MF giving back to you!!
