They're only going to be able to get new monies by selling off existing brands. They do own a sh*t ton of companies.I would drop on ton of money on them and make them starting making basses again, added back past basses and bringing in fresh new ideas for new bass designs.
Gibson guitar's greatest asset is their exclusive rights to the shape of the les paul. [/QUOTE said:Unfortunately the designs have been out there so long, everyone has copied them. Not to mention vastly improving those designs + using better building materials. A logo and brand name are just not enough. Watch, I wonder who will buy those patents for nickels on the dollar.. lol

Make a Fender Jazz Bass copyWhat would you do if you had the wheel? Hypothetically, if you had the power to do anything to the company that you wanted to, what would you do to right the ship, save the day, and bring Gibson back to their former glory?

Mmmmm nope. Just a couple years ago, they were in the exact same position. I don't know about their current financials but I do know Bain Capital had Fender over the proverbial barrel. They were ready to dismantle the company.Have Fender buy them and run the product line correctly..
