Ditto but different color Mine in LPBObviously everyone has their own opinion but to me, the pinnacle of the electric bass is an original stacked knob Jazz Bass. If I could get one in Olympic White with a matching headstock, that would be the final one!
This bass,with the same single pickup and natural finish,in a five string version.

If money wasn't an issue probably a NS Designs CR5 Radius. Only $2800... If money were no object...
For me a Fodera Monarch 4 custom build...and a nice vintage bourbon...or maybe a nice Cabernet to go with it...but either way a custom Fodera and a good drink!!!
I thought I'd reached the limit with a TH500 and CN212, but in the last 2 months have bought a Subway and Barefaced cabs.
I thought my Lakland 55-94 was the end of the trail. It was my number one bass for 8 years, then I got a Lull PJ5. That's been my number one bass for 4 years, but who knows what is around the corner.
I'm developing arthritis so I may end my days back on a 4 string bass. If that happened I'd go back to my old 68 P bass, that's been waiting patiently under the spare bed for the last 25 years.

Update to my earlier post. In poking around on this list and the Alembic list, it appears all the early Spoiler basses had solid koa wings. So the one I had really wasn't that rare. Just early.
And during the last 2 1/2 months, the Epiphone EB-0 has been entirely modded. Only things left original are body, neck, tuners and bridge. This bass could be "the one". It's got the feel and sound where I want to pick it up and play. Still hearing the song of GAS, but it's tough to get excited about something else right now. (And, yeah, that will probably pass in the next 3 months. Old enough to know better, but still young enough to dream.)

yep. That is on my list, but I would forego the sticker. I am aiming towards mid summer of this year....
Okay, so here is a photo of what will most likely be the last bass I ever purchase, although this was actually something I got in trade for something I was selling. Regardless, given some current circumstances going on in my life these days it may very well be the last new bass I will have accrued.

This 4004 Laredo Special condenses down all the best things I have always wanted in a Rickenbacker bass; it combines features that were on some basses I have owned over these past 4.5 decades of playing so I can't really imagine wanting anything else. So, as I mentioned earlier, I am off the GAS wagon!

Well I bought all of these last year.. I have traded off two.. I am done.. I don't need to buy anymore!
The deep blue Spector and the Algae green one have moved on down the road. Picked up the Fodera and the Doug Wimbish in a trade. I also picked up a 1997 Thumb fretless

Not sure of the brand, but it would be a new 2047 model. I'd be 95 at that time so it would likely last a lifetime.
Unless Brad Lowe puts out a five string Ridler bass, my last ever bass is my LeCompte Red Baron bass. Taking that one out later tonight with a new group, and just absolutely love playing it. Not to mention looking at it and hearing its tone. That bass came out better than I ever thought it could.
