What year did you start playing bass?

1999 at the age of 13. My dad took me to the guitar store and I picked an Arctic White jazz bass. As a kid he had a mid 60s P bass in the gray color. But the jazz bass had more knobs so it seemed "better" at the time. And white was the closest to gray.

First picked one up in 99, my little brother was teaching my basslines while I was stuck on the couch after rupturing spleen. In 01 I was old enough to get a job, so I bought my first bass with my first paycheck. I was 15. I've never gotten rid of it

It was sometime in 1969 when I was 16. (Was it really that long ago?). Played pretty much from that point through 1982 and then other things about life came into play. Barley touched it for 10 years, picked it back up for about 3 years and barely touched it again for about 12 years.

I'm a decent player, but some of you younger folks can easily blow my doors right off!
