I couldn't bring myself to watch episode 5. I don't know that I will. Most people I know are loving this season. I don't get it.

I'll watch it. Sunk investment - and I want it to get better as I certainly think of myself as a fan of the show. As to most people, the writers strike may help as there's not as many options in general as usual...
I was watching Doom with Dwayne Johnson the other day. It was weird seeing him when he was just a very large man instead of a comically steroidally large man.
That's a terrible movie, and also a fun movie. Karl Urban is one of my favorite actors (Rosamund Pike too).
I love Dredd. He's great in The Boys. Handsome fella, that guy. I didn't hate him as Bones in JJ Abram Star Trek, despite hating that movie.
3 Days of The Condor still really holds up. Great film.
My brother in law was the aerial coordinator on Capricorn One - need to revisit that. Haven't seen it in decades. It's interesting what 'western' films and music made it through and took hold in the then Soviet Union/satellites.
I'd gladly watch a dozen sequels made in that universe. That exact same style of movie with that look and tone and him as Dredd. It would be great. But they probably won't make another one for years and instead the fast and furious factory pumps out more trash every year and each makes a billion dollars.
I know Urban has been trying for years to get a sequel greenlit, but it's just not happening, unfortunately.
They got a solid lineup of actors for that movie. Alex Garland from Ex Machina wrote the screenplay. No one saw it. It lost money. People are dumb.
YMMV but episode 5 was easily my favorite of the season. Interestingly, the only one to really employ humor - and politics. Good music tracks, too. Was also set in the past - this time 1979 - so, other than episode 1, this whole season did that vs the usual setting of contemporary or near future.
Half the cast is dead. Garibaldi, Franklin, Delenn, G'Kar, Vir, Sinclair...I think someone else. Some of those characters are gonna be in it voiced by other people. I'd rather see that than new actors playing those roles if they're gonna be doing new content with old characters.Why'd it have to be a cartoon?

And budget. I mentioned having worked on the Netflix series, The Liberator - initial budget (before overruns) for doing it live action/Band of Brothers style was pushing $300M. That wasn't going to happen... Animation is a compromise but it makes some projects feasible which otherwise would not be.
Some things are better animated. The Spiderverse movies are my favorite comic book movies. I'd rather see Spiderman doing impossible things as a cartoon than as a real person. The best CGI still doesn't let me completely suspend my disbelief the way a cartoon does. The CGI in B5 was notoriously awful. It would be better in a live action movie made today, but I'll gladly watch this cartoon.
