What I've Been Watching Lately: Ever since the missus and I got rid of cable TV and just have streaming apps for content, we've dedicated our TV time to watching entire series, every season/every episode from start to finish in chronological order. So far over the past couple years we've been through
- Star Trek: The Next Generation
- The West Wing
- The Newsroom
- Schmigadoon!
- The Night Agent
- Inside Man
- Grace and Frankie
- Away
- Loki
- She-Hulk: Attorney At Law
- WandaVision
and now we're almost through with Suits.
I'll be honest, Suits has been a bit of a slog: First off, there are 9 seasons with 16 episodes each, so it's just a ton of TV! More importantly, the acting kinda sucks, and the dramatic arc for every episode is really predictable. The only thing that keeps us returning is that from the 10,000-foot view, the premise is kinda engaging.
Fortunately, we recently hit on another way to make Suits more engaging: We turned it into a drinking game! Now, whenever a character says "goddamn" we take a swig of our favorite adult beverage.
Wife is usually inebriated 20 minutes in to any given episode.

Yeah, I wanted to like Suits. I dig shows that I'd loosely classify as modern noir / con / heist, but it just didn't do it for me. If you haven't seen it already, I highly recommend Leverage (the original series more than the newer Redemption version, though it's not bad either).

This is true. I list some hardcore stuff in here and other far more adulty shows than this one.
I like this show for a number of reasons, one of them being I'm never freaked out or afraid to go outside after watching a few episodes.

For folk that like old silent films, I found this site tonite. Been appreciating and enjoying silent era stuff more and more these past few years. Actually, pretty much anything before about 1950.

Recorded a silent film off cable that I enjoyed called A Page of Madness (1926, Japanese). An elderly sailor takes a handyman job at a Japanese mental asylum to be near his wife, a patient. Dark, Surreal, art house. I like the imagery.
Currently semi-watching while I'm on the computer? Hogans Heroes.

I found a new favorite channel on our Roku, The Johnny Carson Channel.
What a treat watching those old Tonight Show episodes. Johnny was a master of his craft. None like him these days.
An episode I watched last night he had Eddie Murphy on. That was a fun interview.

"The Omega Man" (1971) with Charlton Heston.
I like it much more than Will Smith's "I Am Legend." I've never read the book, so I no idea which one is more faithful to the book, but I like the fact that the infected people in "The Omega Man" aren't mindless zombies. In fact, the leader of the infected, Matthias (played brilliantly by Anthony Zerbe), is an intelligent, charismatic leader, and one of my favorite movie villains.
