Whatcha watching?

but my Roku has been kicking me out of apps
If you have an older Roku, you may just need to get a new one. We were having the same problem with our ~12 year old Roku. We gave in and bought a new one for $25 and it works so much better and faster.
The "plot" was barely a story.
Crazy how differently different people can perceive the same thing. Such is being human.

It's a Roku tv and it's not that old, maybe three years? Four tops? Supremely irritating.

Binging X Files. Didn't watch TV when it was in prime time so it's all new to me. All I knew back then was I heard Scully was quite the punk rocker in her real life.
What do I think? Kinda hokey...OK, more than a little hokey, but Mulder's angst plays well against Scully's skepticism. I'm not sure I'm going to make it through much more as Scully is coming over to the "truth" and seriously questioning her training and worldview, and Fox has died and been reborn as a spirit warrior so it's getting deeper by the episode.

NYPD Blue.

Loved this show back in the day and used to "tape" all the episodes on the VCR. Many may not know what that means. :D

I got the Series DVD set from my wife for Christmas. The show got infinitely better mid Season 2 after David Caruso was out.

Oh heck yeah, great call on this one sir. I love re-visiting this show as well.
As for the VCR, did you also put in big black letters on the label some kind of message not to use that tape? :)

Yes it was labeled clearly. Dad's tape, don't touch. My wife had one of her own for her stuff. And there was a vcr in the basement family room with tapes for kid stuff. Had to stay organized.

So good to go back and watch this show.

I watched The Core again. It's so stupid. I love it. Highly recommend if you haven't seen it. It's on prime video and it's ludicrous and a fun watch.
I found it for 50 cents on VHS a couple of years ago. It’s entertaining when it’s a rainy Friday night and you’re jonesing for some Hot Pockets.

French TV

“Black Butterflies”

certainly not light viewing I surprised myself by making it through the series

it’s a convoluted story
Not for the squeamish
Cool clothes and cars
Great funky soundtrack
Changing the lead actress as the plot reveals was interesting

I liked it for all the points you make. Artfully done. The Serpent was in a similar vein, 70s vibe and overall theme. BBC production since licensed to Netflix (in some regions, at least).
