Whatcha watching?

I'm being self indulgent and watching one I worked on and it's NUTS. Tollywood/Bollywood film on Amazon Prime (currently #1 on Prime Video in India! - not in all countries yet but it is in the US).

I'm in the trailer (the part at the gas station).

Got to play an extreme villain part which is always fun:

Looks like something I don't usually watch. Always good to leave the preconceptions behind. Got NAD right now but expect I'll make time for EAGLE over the next couple of days.

First 5 minutes look like it moves along at a fair old pace.

Another movie that was done quite well is Memoirs of a Geisha.
I really liked that movie. I'd found some of the soundtracks online first, ran across the movie later. One song I really like from that movie is The Chairman's Waltz.:

Been showing alot of old and vintage films, American and foreign, on cable TV lately. Fine with me, 'cause I'm mostly (not totally) tired of more current American offerings.

Recently watched Never On Sunday (1960 Greek rom-com) and Babette's Feast (1987 Danish comedy drama). Will be watching Mon Oncle (1958 French comedy) later. This one features a character I like, Monsieur Hulot (Jacques Tati), that I saw in another French comedy film Monsieur Hulot's Holiday (1953).

I'll be interested to know what you think. It's also far outside of my usual frame of reference but clearly well made - though Bollywood has very different sensibilities - and, yes, there is dancing! Fairly universal story with the hero being a warrior/defender of common people ala Seven Samurai, etc. I enjoyed it.

Intriguing. Def on my list.

I've tried so hard to like Dune. I can't do it. I don't know what the hell is going on. Zendaya didn't like Timmy Charlemagne and then she liked him and then he rode a big worm and I think Rebecca Ferguson is bad now and I just don't care. She's talking to her fetus. Javier Bardem is there. I can't understand anything that Dave Bautista is saying. I made it about an hour. It's enough.

This is exactly how I'd imagine I'd feel if I watched it.

Attempted to watch Thanksgiving on Netflix. I don't know what has happened to Eli Roth as a director. I had high hopes for this one since I loved the fake trailer concept from the Grindhouse releases, but I bailed out around the 20 min mark. What could have been a grimy tribute to 80s slasher movies is instead a crappy teen horror effort with no redeeming qualities.

I don't take my moves from Bollywood. But I don't fear dancing. I've been told there are 7 stories and that's it. Expect that number depends on how far you want to reduce things. But, people being people, I'd be surprised if Hindi came up with a wildly different number.

Did a lot of sidewalk surfin'. Broke a lot of bones:smug:
My kids saw me do street and downhill skating in my Chicago skates with California breaks and Kryptonics Red wheels. Never saw me skateboard though.

My grandson doesn't believe that I did any of that, because I'm old and fat. I told him he won't believe that he did it when he gets old and fat like me.

:)
