Whatcha watching?

It would be a pretty standard narrative move to kill him once he sorta becomes a decent person, but this show is all about surprises in the dumbest and crudest ways. Maybe he'll become super evil.
I've enjoyed the Boys so far, actually. I presume we will get an ending similar to the comic though obviously different enough in some respects due to setup. The latest episode dropped some hints in that regard, I feel.

I'm rewatching the Child's Play series right now. Man, the first two movies were killer. The first one was genuinely creepy until Chucky comes out as the antagonist, and the second one is such a fun romp. The FX work in the factory scene is superb.

Also, I'm watching Star Trek: Lower Decks in the hopes it can motivate me to watch Star Trek proper.

"Warrior" on Netflix...about six episodes into the first "season" so far. Surprisingly engrossing,.and excellent cinematography. Very skilled use of a cool technique to use occasional subtitles and then shift to English once it's been established that the characters are speaking Chinese. The use of vulgarity is pervasive and completely unnecessary, and there's the also an unnecessary amount of "Skinemax" nudity and graphic violence, but the martial arts fight scenes are choreographed and performed well.

So far, a very intense story line shot and acted with very high standards. Looking forward to the rest...despite having to grit my teeth through the stuff that adds nothing (in my opinion...others may of course vary) to the series.

I think the next several episodes will be all filler until a season finale where Homelander does something shocking, but ultimately meaningless, Kimiko will talk, Butcher will drop dead, and then two years will go by till season 5.

Oh, and did/does Butcher have a some sort of snake monster inside him that he puked out and killed the stretchy priest guy? Is that what happened?

Butcher definitely has something in him, I think it's what killed the stretchy guy and I think it's also why he's seeing his dead wife. It's obviously something that's protecting him, will it keep him alive? No idea!

Well, tentacle porn would not be off-brand for the show, so...
That's so stupid, it has to happen.

The Deep and his octopus lover and an army of octopi vs Butcher with mile long tenticles coming out of his mouth. Homelander will be watching from a distance with a smirk on his face and then out of nowhere, his kid will laser a hole in his abdomen. We'll have an extended sky punching scene interspliced with the battle at sea, and then head-popper politician lady will show up in a helicopter and her eyes will go white and we'll hear a head pop but we won't know if it's Homelander or the kid.

Just got done watching this classic B-rated sci-fi from 1958. I love it. Wish I could have seen it at the drive-ins back in the day. Bonus humor is the small part played by Skip Young. Credited as "the bass player". Talk about getting into the groove. You have to watch it to see what I mean.:roflmao:
LOL! Great 50's film.

So Anyway, I remember Skip Young as a sidekick to The Nelson Boys. A lot nicer but not as funny as Eddie Haskell.

Just finished watching A Clockwork Orange with commentary by Malcom McDowell and Nick Redman. Apparently, Stanley Kubrick wasn't interested in making the movie until he saw Malcom McDowell in another film.
Then he knew he had his Alex.

Saw that one as a kid on "Mystery Theater", which came on Sundays at 4:00 pm.

During my HS reunion this past weekend, I was reminiscing about our junior year English teacher showing an edited version of "A Clockwork Orange" in class. We also read an edited version of the book complete with a glossary, which was cool.

By the time I was old enough to see that movie it was no longer in the moral climate it was released into. Which made me think it was unnecessarily stylised. Got me a much better vibe from reading the book.

Funny how what necessitated some Dali for Stanley to say then seems normal today. While common assumptions from that era bring out the weepy devochka in many people now. Regardless of political affiliations.

@Hurricane Jimmie

So funny you knew about Skip Young!

Malcolm McDowell! My favorite villain. ;)

Just saw him today in an independent film called "Thelma" at my local theatre. Yes, he played the villain! He was only in it for about 15 minutes, but man he still fills the screen. If you do go see it, it's about a 93 year old grandma who gets phone scammed out of some money and she tries to get it back. (from you know who, of course). It has June Squibb, Richard Roundtree and Parker Posey along with Malcolm. Tell me that's not a schizo line up! :roflmao:

I've requested the book from our local library.
We went to see A Clockwork Orange in the early 70's. I'd never heard a lot of the slang (invented for the book), but I knew exactly what they meant.

Dune Part Two, last night. We plan to watch it a couple more times to "analyze" certain things before returning the DVD to the library.
Yeah, I watched it twice, one day after another. My rental from Prime only allowed 48 hours from when I started the film. The second time verified, to me, it was better than the first. Not dissing the first one at all. Good set of movies. Set up the third novel nicely (Dune: Messiah). Hopefully the third film goes that direction.

Watched The Others (2001) with Nicole Kidman . Probably 3rd time I've seen it. Really like that movie.

Also watched The Right Stuff (1983) again. Enjoyed that one. I was a kid when we moved to about 20 miles south of Cape Canaveral during the early manned missions of NASA. Got there at the end of the Mercury program. Watched the Gemini and Apollo launches from our yard or the beach. I was caught up in space stuff from an early age LOL.
