Whatcha watching?

"That's the Way of the World" - the movie.

Aside from Earth, Wind & Fire's music, and the nostalgia factor, it's just not worth it. The plot is not bad, but the movie was simply inept. It could have been so much better.

"The Sunshine Boys"

The interaction between Walter Matthau and Richard Benjamin was more entertaining than the interaction between Matthau and George Burns.

Watched The Zero Theorem yesterday. Done by Terry Gilliam, director of Time Bandits, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, 12 Monkeys, Brazil, among others. Liked it, especially his unique and fantastical visual style.

Alot of old Alfred Hitchcock Presents episodes today. Didn't watch it alot back in the day, as opposed to my steady viewing of Twilight Zone and Outer Limits. Really liking them, intelligently written and always enjoy Hitchcock's jabs at sponsors and commercials.

I still get chills watching the intro for the series Darkroom. James Coburn was the perfect host for that show.
The episode Closed Circuit is his take on AI 40+ years ago. Erie and accurate.

I finally started The Expanse. I'm nearly done with the first season. It's very, very good. I like space sci-fi that's limited to one solar system. Firefly was similar, but it was a multi-star system. Really good stuff.
It got weaker as it went along, and they butchered the final season, but it's probably my favorite sci-fi tv show ever.

Last night we watched "Hit Man" starring Glen Powell and Adria Arjona :p. It was really entertaining. Austin Amelio ("The Walking Dead") is great, too. We really loved the nods to other movies and characters that Glen gave while role-playing his hit man characters.

I would have to disagree about it getting weaker. The final season was a bit whacked because they knew they had to wrap it up and not continue the story from the books. Too bad it ended there. There is so much good stuff in the later books.

It's also my favorite sci-fi TV series. It is based on real science without a lot of mumbo-jumbo magic needed to make an interstellar-based story (except the part that isn't 😉 🤣)

The books didn't get weaker, but I felt the series was increasingly rushed. That said, I've watched the whole shebang probably four times now. I was bummed when it was canceled.
