Christmas day we saw "Nosferatu". Very dark, very intense, and it drags in a couple of places. But overall, it was very good. And the ending was foreshadowed but sad nonetheless.

I had a very strong reaction to Nosferatu. At first I wasn't sure it was negative or positive, but after sitting with it for a week I think it was very, very, good. It's a different take on the story, and one has to remember that Eggers does a lot of historical research which informs how each of his films are stylized. The big miss in the film is Aaron Taylor Johnson, he's just horribly miscast, imho.

That's fair. But Bill Skarsgård was exceptional because I completely forgot he played Count Orlok until afterwards!

Just started Season two. Season one was really good dark comedy that had a satisfying ending. It'll be hard to carry it on at that level, but we'll see.

"The First Lady" on PBS. I didn't know it originally aired on Showtime until just now (Google search), but I did notice the occasional expletive being deleted on the PBS broadcast.

I've only watched the first episode, but I'm impressed so far.

I haven't been on AppleTV since the first series of Severance came out, which was a few years back.

School me on what's worth watching over the next couple of evenings.

I'm going to try to binge The Tragedy Of Macbeth, Killers Of The Flower Moon, and Fly Me To The Moon.

I quite fancy checking out Masters Of Air, but even if that's the only thing I watched, I doubt I'd get it done in two days.

What else am I missing out on?

I didn't realize there was a remake until I finished it. I won't watch the updated one though. The original is enough to creep me out.

They were playing Seven at my local fake imax. Brad Pitt is not good in this movie. He reads lines like a teenager. He's hard to take seriously.

We started "No Good Deed" with Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano last week. It's very captivating and interesting, and funny at times. And what a great cast.

I don't remember if you've said you've read the books. They are dragging this story out way too much with all the added side plots and non-book characters. Since this is now designed to run for four seasons and they will be lucky to get through the first book of the trilogy, I don't see how they can do justice to the last two books, which is a shame.

I finally started The Expanse. I'm nearly done with the first season. It's very, very good. I like space sci-fi that's limited to one solar system. Firefly was similar, but it was a multi-star system. Really good stuff.

Also just watched season one. Not perfect, but I liked it a lot. The details, like the "patois" language spoken by the Belters, make it very immersive.

I did indeed, but I'm not always super picky about fidelity to original sources. It's also been long enough since I read the books that I don't really remember more than the overarching plot. What can I say, I love David Lynch's Dune as much as Villeneuve's, so...
