If I'm to believe he's upped the caps on his Silicon Sun Face to the size of the caps in the Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face, a brand new Silicon BC108 Sun Face would have the most bottom.
In my experience the Silicon Sun Face is still extremely smooth and musical, unlike many other silicon Fuzz Faces. The NKT Fuzz Face is a little bit smoother though if that's important to you, but both are capable of a very raw if smooth distortion and fuzz. The Sun Face still has the most balls out of any overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedal I've played.
They are probably incorporating some of the elements from the Axis Face mods that filter out some of the harsh high end. My modded Axis Face with BC108s is one of the best Fuzz Face clones I've heard.

Seriously. It might just be the newness speaking through me (like a snake), but if I had to sell all of my pedals tomorrow to support some unrelenting drug and/or porn habit, the Sun Face would be the last to go.
I may have more old clips somewhere, I'll take a look later tonight. But if I do they're not labeled so I'll be going by memory which clips are Silicon and which are Germanium High Gain NKT. My Silicon Sun Face is in the possession of my guitar tech now or I'd just record new clips, you see the problem.
But just so you know the Silicon clips I did had the internal "volume" control rolled down so the pedal can actually get thicker and fuzzier if you roll that up, and I'm also using my SG Bass' bridge pickup for those clips, which is lacking on the bottom end and very guitarlike. However, no bass boost or processing of any kind was applied to the recordings of those clips. Also, my Silicon Sun Face would have been before Analogman updated the Silicon Sun Faces with bigger caps to allow more bass response, if he has indeed done so.

What kind of music are you playing such that you have a horn section and a Subdecay Noisebox?
Two different projects. One all synths all the time, the other no effects what-so-ever (unless you count the the Markbass VLE knob).
Good point though. Noisebox and JB Horns tunes don't mix.
Huh... I've been jonesing for one of those for a long time. Any particular reason you're getting rid of it?

It just sounds too thin for my taste. Some have reported that the SC wah is more clear than the EBS Wah One, but to my ear, it sounds thin and doesn't cut through a live mix. I've been playing with it for about two weeks now and tried hard to like it... tried every possible mode and setting, but for $300, it's not tripping my trigger, and it should for that $$$.
(OTOH, I just bought a $85 Small Stone Nano that is tripping my trigger!)
Anyway, I recently heard clips of the Mad Prof SWAW and love the way it sounds, so I'm taking advantage of Bananas At Large's return polity and flipping the money into a Mad Prof SWAW order.
