Invaluable!!
You can also glue your guitarists picks to his mikestand for some extra fun! :rollno:

:D :D

i keep extra an power strip , two sets of used bass strings , pliers and wire strippers , small flashlight , extra mic cords , microphone , 9 volt batteries , bass stand , and some super glue ... also found it handy to keep a notebook for names and addresses :)

i don't have an actual gig bag , i store all my stuff in a tupperware box , 18"wide x 24"long . { makes it easy to stack and roll with my amp }

In my bag there is:

30-foot cable
8-foot cable
A pad of staff paper
A pen/pencil
A leather notebook with lyrics in it
My bass (obviously)
Some picks
A microphone, earplugs and a power transformer for my BP-50 in a small pouch
An extra set of strings
My tuner (Korg Chromatic)
My microphone cable
3M medical tape for some reason
Halls Vitamin C cough drops
Cloth

I think that's it :)

Peace,
Graeme :bassist:

Edit: I also carry a small screwdriver and wrench.

2- ten foot cables
Leatherman tool
Seiko Chromatic tuner
2-extra 9 volt batteries
Extra pack of Erinie Ball strings
guitar cloth
5 or 6 Fender medium picks (rarely used)
1 Box of Altoids (ever have someone come over and share your mic on backing vocals and their breath smells like something died in thier mouth?)

Extra cable for rack (short)
Extra instrument cable for guitar (long)
2 9-volt batteries
screwdriver
voltage checker
wrench - serves no purpose other than to turn on a switch that I can't reach with my fingers
earplugs
set of strings

I think that's it. I have to remember to buy an extension cord, I needs one bad. Could barely reach the plug last gig.

Jeez, like lookin' in a purse! :D

I got a new gig bag from a friend for my birthday, just a piece of luggage really.

2 stands
2 straps
vocal mic & cable
3 or 4 bass cables, 12' to 25'
25' extension cable
power strip
duct tape, electrical tape
4 & 5 string sets
tuner
needlenose pliers, cutters
cable ties
several screwdrivers of various sizes
soldering iron & solder
earplugs
SAE and metric allen key sets
patch cables (1/4" and rca)
flashlight

Great thread!I keep the normal tuner, cables, extra strings, etc, but never thought of tools.I gotta get some in my bag-I got like 100 screwdrivers at home and at a gig I'd be kicking myself for not having one.

Screwdrivers (straight and crosshead)
WD40
spare tubes (if applicable)
clothes pegs (for outdoor reading gigs-stops music blowing away)
baby night light x2 (for gigs with darkened stage)
RCB or RCD (for gigs with dodgey power)

mix and match depending on the gig.
