Keep the memory alive, that way when it is your turn to be the weird old guy who sits in the rocking chair with the far-away look and grin on your face there is a reason for the grin. :D The three spare power cords are my main 'this is for everyone else' bit.

I usually have things in places other than the bag, but altogether, I keep:

Tuner
screwdriver
wrenches
3 cords of different sizes
this wooden thing that comes in handy sometimes
ear plugs
strings if I have em
metronome
knobs
picks (in case a guitarist needs them)
my lucky pencil
a lighter, for lighting things on fire...and um...other stuff
a piece of mousepad
a few adapters
and my strap.

and maybe a few other things.

After reading everyones replies, I have made an
addition to mine.
Swiss Army Knife I found in a desk at work,most likely from the poor sap who had this job before me, I am surprised he did not use it to take his own life.
And a Lighter.....for ? whatever needs to be lit.
I had one left over from the Glory days of heavy metal,with our old band logo on it,it still works.
Black with White Skull & Crossbone. ah the good ol days.

I play pretty damn hard sometimes and I get no cuts,nothing...

It's funny though,because most of you are the type that just stand there and play all softly and crap;):p

Osama-you play for 4-8hrs and see how your fingers end up :) My fingers got really sore today from just 4 hrs, i'm wonderin how they will react to next weeks 8hrs a day. That's all
