Right now it's a passive 5-string from either Hanewinckel or Cliff Bordwell.

Alder body w/ Walnut top
Pau Ferro or Ebony fingerboard
Maple or Maple/Wenge neck (depending on builder)
Nordy Big Singles (CB) or handwound dual-coils with coil splitters (Hanewinckel)
V/V/T controls
For the most part, everything else would be standard. I just want a 5-string that makes me as happy as my Yammy 4-string makes me.

Since I'll be working again soon, I guess it's legit to be hoping for a Brice 405 fretless within 2 months, from www.rondomusic.com
This model really has a nice overall look, the body kinda looks like a modern/exotic extrapolation of an early P bass without the pick guard, w/string thru option, active option, light weight, just under 3 hun, good reviews..., yep, I'm sold. And Kurt sez he'll have some bubinga tops in soon to compliment the current spalted's.
Even if I suddenly won the lottery, (I think) I'd still be going for the 405, I'm hooked, but would throw in a Roland Bass RX amp for the amp modeling, good headphone action, and not make the landlord mad on NBD.

After visiting Pete Skjold's shop, I'll have to say a Skjold 5-string is likely. Gotta keep saving...
