I had a really slow gear year in 2013 right up until November and December when I had a flurry of buying and selling, I made a lot of changes which affected my drums, basses and guitar setups.
I joined the rank of Ampeg owners with the purchase of a SVT 3 Pro last week. I'm looking to add a cabinet in 2014. I was leaning toward a fEarful, but am now considering an Ampeg SVT 212 AV.
After that I'm going to concentrate on replacing my current PA system with a Prosonus Studiolive/QSC K series system. (I've been slowly upgrading all of my live mics over the past couple of years. Maybe I can finish that project as well.)

Going to finish my Warmoth P Bass build any day now and maybe get a Great River 32 EQ for my API Lunchbox.
1 After spending 2012 and 2013 downsizing my rig and the number of basses I own, I'd like to finish off the downsizing by selling my SWR750x which I just use as a power amp for a newer high powered class D amp, maybe a SVT7. swapping the 750x with a SVT7 would cut about 20lbs from my rack and I could also go from the 8 space rack I'm using now down to a 6.
2. Id like to build a nicer pedal board for my effects.
3. I'll be on the lookout for a couple cheap basses used; Conklin GT7(to have a backup for my modded gt7), I'd like to either buy or build a 5 string fretless Jazz to replace my 4 string, and as cheap as they are I'm pretty sure by the end of 2014 I'll have a double course 8 string ESP. but absolutely no plans of ever owning more than 4 basses again. I plan on getting a custom 7 string eventually but I seriously doubt its going to happen in 2014, I'll probably have to wait until my car is paid off and its only half way to being paid off right now.

Before we met a couple years ago I'd given up gigging and sold or gave away all my guitars and amps. But she convinced me to take up bass again and has been after me to buy a gig worthy amp and cab(s) and start gigging again.
She thinks it would be exciting.

Hmm... I like that girl's thinking. (Although she will likely be disappointed as to how exciting schlepping gear and long hours actually are.)
I'm (mostly) pretty good for gear right this moment. I occasionally want a fretless five string bass, like maybe a Skyline DJ5 fretless. But I don't actually NEED one right now.
Guitar-wise I'm pretty good. I've got Taylor acoustic-electric six and 12-strings. I've got a good Strat, Tele, and ES335-equivalent Epi Dot. I own a Hamer that can do the Les Paul-equivalent sounds. But I don't really love it like its predecessor. Maybe I'll let it go and get something to do that tone some time. But I'm in no hurry.
I'm okay for keyboards. I'd totally dig something that did the Hammond thing better than my Alesis. But I'm really not good enough on keys to push very hard for that. Maybe someday. But not soon.
Totally cool for drums and percussion. My daughter's PDP 7-piece with Zildjian A's and A Customs is plenty good enough to record with. And My congas and bongos and assorted junk are fine. Maybe a cajon. But that's just for grins.
PA gear...Hmmm. I'm a little bit weak there. But that's because I don't actually need any. My keyboard rig goes through a mixer and power amp to monitors and works fine as a PA for anything up to a decent sized hall.

After thinking about it a few minutes, I'd really like an easier bass rig to transport.
My SWR Rig is fairly awesome. It makes great and powerful tones. And it is smaller and lighter than my gig rig from my last band. But technology has advanced. Nowadays we can have still smaller and still lighter amp rigs make those same tones.
So maybe something like a LMII and a couple of neo cabs, say a 15 and a 12?
After thinking about it a few minutes, I'd really like an easier bass rig to transport.

In the short term, PA gear, specifically a digital mixer of some kind. Haven't quite decided between a Presonus 16.4.2 and a Behringer X32 at the moment and keep going around on them. Hope to get something within the next month or so.
I will be giving all my basses some TLC with a good setup for my Ric, a refurb for my fretless and a few mods planned for the cheap end of the herd, since I have better quality pickups and components on hand from previous projects to ring a few changes and have some fun.
My main project will be a significant house extension and remodelling, for which I am just in the stages of getting permission to build from the local authorities. I already have the cash, plus a 25% contingency, in the bank and I've been a professional project manager all my working life - so my main task for 2014 will be to test my project management skills and bring it in sufficiently under budget and leave enough cash for a custom 5 string...Marleaux, ACG, Le Fay, Basslines are catching my eye on that front.
