What's On Your Workbench?

.

The finish is a genuine relic, in that it is covered in dents and scratches and wear from use and abuse... Part of me wants to refin the whole thing (and make the peghead match :D) and part of me wants to embrace it as is. Maybe I'll post some pics in @JIO's Distressed thread... The color is called "Candy Red" apparently, but I keep calling it "Electric Blood", because I am an idiot. It does have a certain appeal, and it also very comfy. This Westone body makes my Strat feel chunky.

Again though, I mostly just want to play it, and record with it, so mostly focused on electronic options atm. Any suggestions for good inexpensive pots, caps and switches that aren't from the amazonians?

post away! :)

It's for sure Christmas time and I've been deep in making gifts for people. I made a bunch of ornaments on the lathe but I will most likely keep this one. First time turning "on point" and while it wasn't perfect, I'm pretty happy with it for a first attempt.

Walnut "wing section" with purpleheart finials, finished simply with "Odie's Oil". :cool:

Edit:
Here's a pic of it in the tree.

If you type in 'vintage Japanese bass parts' on eBay - you will find many of the parts on that bass listing for exorbitant amounts. (knobs, pu's, bridge attachment bolts, pg, strap pegs) If it stalls, you may consider parting it out.
Yes I know, but I thought i would offer it here first hoping someone would make a bass out of it. I'm not personally geared to maximizing $$. As long as I can cover costs on stuff like this I'm okay.

@MonetBass
Is that a sapele mahogany body? 1/4 sawn? Gorgeous! I have a piece of that on my watch list on Ebay for a build, much more character than a honduran mahogany body.
Good eye! It's one piece of sapele, cut in half (for the planer) then glued back together. Yes it is stunning, especially with the finish.

I Nominate You, Sir Mullins, to rescue this body from Teisco Dumpster Obscurity. :D

It just takes the tiniest of nudges sometimes. I can always count on you, GiG, to push me towards excellence! Or folly. Either way!

@Slidlow , PM incoming!

Edit: Heard back, I was too late.... :meh::angel:
