What's On Your Workbench?

a small sample from a large customer order of Birdseye Maple covers. these freshly cored covers still a lot of work left to do before the dual-coil sets are epoxy cast into these. each pair is sequential, so there's some nice continuity in the grain for each set

Got this started, my first build: The Enforcer! Purple heart, hard maple, and Macassar ebony. It's slow going but great fun! It'll have Wilde P/Js in it with their Q-filter and two volumes. View attachment 1125629

Looks awesome! But heavy. Should have that "angry piano" sound. :bassist:

Way more crap than what needs to be... this is the year of S. D. T.

Sell, Donate, Trash... the latter falls into the hands of the guy who regularly patrols our neighborhood, the day before pickup... I thank him all the time, mainly due to the fact he pretty much leaves it as he finds it.

Saga MB-10, you WILL get finished, soon.

I'm still getting things moved in to the new shop. I'm trying to consider workflows in placing things. I'm finding my brain doesn't work like that, I've moved stuff around so much already it's really not getting better :-D. I'll have to go through a build or two before deciding on a final location for stuff. I only have power along the sheet rocked wall, so power tools and work surfaces go there, beyond that, who knows. The paint on the floor is the drips from where they sealed the house framing, I'll get something on the floor (mainly for my aching feet, but also to cover up those splashes). I'll get a bandsaw soon, I think.

I would love to spend more time here sharing my work and helping others with their builds. I just don't have the time.

Inquiring minds have a need to know.
How can these be "done" when none of them have strap buttons?

Completely gutting and properly finishing my Sheehan-Frankenstein. About 15 years old and played the hell out of it, warts and all.

Other than tuners/pickup/bridge/electronics, everything came from home Depot. Maple fingerboard and neck, maple ply wood body (didn't have a router so this let me jigsaw routes), string tees are flattened t nuts, used aluminum channel material to make a truss rod, etc.

I had no idea what I was doing back then and still produced an awesome sounding instrument. Fingers crossed I can fix up a lot of the warts.
