I couldn't handle the insurance premiums, let alone the cost of owning one drool.
for me , it like i've been chasing the Holy Grail of electronic acoustic grand piano sounds all of my adult life ...
i finally found one that made me stop searching ... have i still heard better = yes , have i played some that felt better , but sounded worse = yes , doing i wanna keep wasting money for tickle my inner perfectionist ego ... finally for the piano it has stopped ( Korg Kronos 88 )
for guitar / bass ... i found items that feel good in my hands ... is there a holy grail bass or guitar for me = NO ... the only things that come to mind are sentimental not functional . ( my 1st gtr - 57 Gibson ES225T w/factory Bigsby , or my first bass - 69 Hagstrom Swede 8 string ) i have several " sounds " in my head that are holy grail type sounds for bass/gtr ... still working at those ... which gives me constant GAS for various pedals and gadgets ...
which is much cheaper than cars , boats , houses , young dancer chicks , etc ... !!
at some point , i think we come to our senses and just 'tame the inner beast ' and deal with it ... !!??

My holy Grail is a wedding band that plays once every two to four weeks, highly paid (cash only of course) and owns a massive PA so I can roll in with my four string and a tiny little amp by which to hear myself.
Oh and a nice bass would be cool too, but I already have a couple of those. My Grail is high paying and infrequent work, lol.
Please don't tell me that you're from an original Mayflower family and own Ferrari No. 0001 as well.....
