Oh yeah that simple little diddy "Shyboy."
I was going to learn either Yngwie's "Trilogy Suite Op. 5" or "Krakatau" for my first song but they were just too damn easy and slow (especially 2:22 below).

Waterfalls (TLC) - not the first bass line but has stayed with me as an inspiration ever since I heard it.
Accidentally stumbled on the intro to 46 and 2. Thought how funny it is that it's a pretty simple line. Bass isn't my first instrument, or my 2nd. Drums, guitar, and then bass which I only picked up recently.
first song I learned "proper" for my first bass lesson (after trying unsuccessfully to teach myself bass for a few years) was probably "Running Down a Dream" by Tom Petty

Mine was "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath. To this day, not sure why I picked up my bass for the first time and tried to learn that one by ear. Now, well into my bass career, I can't say Geezer has influenced me a whole lot but he sure was a bass god!
"Save a Prayer" by Duran Duran. February 1985 I picked up a bass for the first time.
I was very young, didn't know how to play bass, borrowed my friend bass and it took me forever to learn. Nazareth's Hair of the Dog. Now it's a piece of cake, but back then.
