What's up with Electric Amps?

And the band Sleep had issues with Matamp. Electric helped them fix them and by the time Al was doing Om he was using Electrics.

The guy that made Electrics non-shoddy is long gone from Electric. I've seen a fair few for sale. According to Electric Sleep had issues, but Al was asking after buying my Matamp up until the Ampeg deal, which I'm gonna take as a more reliable source.

I recently picked up an AIMS VT200 tube PA head here for $200. While it will cost me up to $800 to refurbish, most of that is for a new output transformer. When it's all said and done, I'll have a 200 watt, hand wired, 6 channel, all tube amplifier for under $1K. Not a bad deal.

Nice, everyone knows Al. I love that. He doesn't seem like a social butterfly. But I suppose if you have an amp he wants...
I stand corrected. Pardon my attempt at providing true information. I'll try harder next time.

I have to say that Al was a contributing factor for me jumping on the Ampeg train. If you compare Sleeps sound on Dopesmoker to their sound now, I cant hear any difference in Als current rig ( old svt's and 810s). I can hear a difference in Matt though. I love my Ampeg rigs. That being said, I would love to have a Verellen to split a signal to when its time to get dirty. Also, I am not saying Ampeg sounds like an Electric but, Al has been able to keep his very distinct sound with 2 very different rigs, Electric through 4x15 cabs vs. Ampeg and 8x10 cabs.

Everything I do takes considerable time, there is no way around that. I have lots of clips on my soundcloud page but every amp I build is custom. I don't keep stock of anything around for demo purposes. Only what is currently in the shop

and the Electric Amps are built well, they are mostly built by a guy named John McNeese who is very talented.

He does Diabolic amps and owns a music store called McNeese music in Georgia. However I'm not sure if he is still making Diabolic amps. But he did during his time doing the wiring for Electric. Of course, we would have to ask Al Cisneros to make sure this info is one hundred percent accurate. But I'm pretty sure it is. :)

John macneese built mine.

So, I'm having issues with mine now. I just played a big show at the HOB Chicago last weekend. I used their house cab, an ampeg 810. There was a point in the show when I thought my sound was cutting out. The monitor guy turned my monitor up and I could hear myself so I kept going. Brought my amp home, haven't plugged it in since. I try to this morning and all I got out of it was barely audible farty distorted sound. After a couple notes stuck it was totally quiet.

Now all the light and tubes still light. I didn't keep it powered for very long. I checked the fuse and it looks blown to me. What do you guys think? I'm not willing to do anything other than change the fuse and power it up to see if the tubes are lighting in a good manner. Other than that, it's going to the tech.

Anyone know if this type of fuse can be found at a hardware store? And also, can someone tell me exactly what this fuse is? Maybe @dunwichamps? I know it says 1.5 on the back near the plugin. Thanks to any and all input/help.

You need to test using a multimeter but that is likely a 1.5A fast blow fuse

@gregmon79 I think thats a great idea. It would be good to get it biased and looked over while it is there as well. Just having the piece of mind that everything is running 100% is worth the money. Plus, Oz brought up a good point when I got mine, the tech will be stoked to have it on his table. It'll probably be a nice change from the usual suspects.

Its a safe bet that a pre amp tube is toast. Not a big deal and not an expensive fix. 12Au7 tubes usually never go out in the fashion you are describing so I would be looking at your 12ax7.
