Always wondered this myself. RCF, B&C, Ciare, and Faital have been around quite awhile. 18 Sound was born from RCF ownership woes.
They all copy each other to some extent. RCF was the first to incorporate most the features seen in Italian drivers.

Powersoft makes some of the most advanced DSP driven class D amps on the market, and the most advanced and rugged subwoofer system to date.

Pretty impressive.

Italians have been into bass since Domenico Dragonetti. My favorite Italian bass man is Davide Romani:



It only makes sense that they would make good amps and speakers.

I have a couple of Greenboy Bassic loaded with Faital. Got them used and they were definitely used, so they rattle a bit at high volumes. But ignoring the rattle of the beaten up cabs...the speakers are the best I have ever heard.

Given the QC issues of Markbass as of late, I’m pretty sure Italy’s involvement is lacking.
