Well mine's two Lakland 55-94s for $3200, the Fender American Standard would be around $1100 in my parts, the Ampeg B200r cost me a little less than $1000... No FX...
Sounds like somewhere @ $5300, considering the regular wage in my city would be way under the equivalent of $250... and I always paid cash... and I play for free

I didn't read 20 pages of text, but I'm disappointed with the strange vote alternatives. There's a huge difference in owning bass gear for $1000 and $10.000. You don't really get a decent bass and amp for less than $1000, but you can get virtually any combination you want for €10.000, or a bunchload of cheap or at least decent basses and amps, or a few very good ones.

I got my amp with its two cabs (see my profile) for €900. Then I have a Fender '62 RI Jazz that cost me about the same. Then I have a Squier VM fretless and an Alliance Stingray copy, that cost €360 and €240 respectively.

That is a total of 2500 €.

If we're going on list prices (which I do for renter's insurance purposes) then here is the approximate breakdown I think:

Pedulla Rapture J2 - $3500
Human Base - BaseX.oc - $1800
GK Mark IV Combo - $1000
Eden 210XLT - $800
Carvin R600 Head - $800

I paid MUCH MUCH less for all of these items though. A few I found on Craigslist for stupid cheap prices (like $700 for the Pedulla!)

My first bass (a purple Yamaha RBX 175?) I inherited off my girlfriend - she bought it when she was 14 and wanted to be in a band. My first amp was given to me by a good friend for free - that was a Laney 150 Watts combo with 2 speakers in it. It was an absolute monster to move around. Farted like a trooper and it got quieter and quieter the longer I used it for. I bought the Ashdown Combo to use at our first gig... The Laney stayed at our rehearsal space until recently. I think it's being used as a coffee table by our singer now...

I'd say around 20 grand, my old J bass adds to that figure. I'm not really sure what it's worth ('66' left handed, all stock) plus. My Warmouth 5 string was around 1500, my no name fretless P bass ended up around 300 to rebuild. The Kelly Firefly was around 400. That also includes my theremin collection that comes to 4000.
And the amps....

Wow - It's way too much. Like another TB'er stated, I should heve spent less on gear and more on lessons. It's fun to collect stuff, but only if it's worthy of collecting. Who knows what stuff will be worth when I'm too old to play, whatever someones willing to pay I spose. Good topic!
