$18,000 in basses - sick, but I have sold quite a few!

an MTD 545
Musicman Stingray 5
Musicman Cutlass Fretless 4
Modulus Quantum 5 Fretless
Spector 4
Warwick Jack Bruce 1991 4 string Fretless
Warmouth 4 Fretless
NS 5 EUB (US made)
Clevenger 4
Kay 'Chubby Jackson' 5 string

??? in amps:
GK 200MB
Eden Metro - extra 2X10 cabinet
SWR Baby Blue - extra 4X8 cabinet

I am guessing that puts me just over the $20,000 mark.

Thanks to the current @~%$$# exchange rate :(, my basses (all paid for in Euros) are probably waaay up there in this poll :D!

Shame that I couldn't buy them for peanuts in the USA :hmm: - most sellers seem to be against shipping outside of the the "48 contigs"? Don't know why they'd sooner ship to Area 51 than Germany :hmm:, but it's basically their loss at the end of the day (I'm not bitter, you understand :p)!

:hiding:

well,, i've bought a few rigs,,, sold a few rigs,, bought more than a few basses,, sold a few basses,, pedals,,, boards,,, PA's,, mixing boards,,all the necessary cables,, ect,, ect,,

i just look at it like this,,, there are a hell of alot worse addictions out there, besides being a musician,,, & i bring alot of pleasure to the people that hear us play.

i really have no idea of how much i've spent on gear thru the years,, & could really care less,,,,, at least all that money didn't go up my nose.

i just added it up to 9,200. plus im planning on buying another head + 2x12 cubes (~$1900) and within a year or so im buying another bass at $3600 =/

the saddest part of this is, i paid for all of this working for 7.75 an hour at a supermarket. thats dedication to the low end right there

thats almost 2 full years of work + not spending money on anything but bass gear. but hey, atleast my tone is top notch.

My arsenal value is lower than a few years ago. I sold off several valuable basses and substituted ones I built or took a chance on budget brands. The low-end ones are good enough to get daily/weekly use without worries of damage or theft. I'll buy and sell stuff so that with dollar cost averaging, and lower priced instruments improving in quality, my money is working harder.
