All this I paid in a time of 25 years (though in Deutsche Mark/Euro currency, so this might not be accurate)
I didn't do too many gigs that made money, but I can say the money I got from gigs paid half the stuff. Nowadays I'd love to have a new bass amp, and a Rhodes piano as well as a clavinet would be cool in the future.

photography on the other hand.....

i have close to $6000 in that, and im gettin another $4000 peice of kit at the end of the summer. and this is for a prosumer kit, not even a professional one.

compared to that, the $1200 human base i have my eye on is cheap.

My stuff is worth bugger all. New it was about $700 for my ESP B-50 and crap practise amp. Probably worth maybe half that now.

But god the stuff I'd buy if I came across a few grand...
