What's Your Bass/Guitar's Name?

Roger Waters P Bass - Mary Jane (for the herb... that is always with me when I play)
Geddy Lee J Bass - Rita Lee (Brazilian Singer of famous Psicodelic Rock Band Os Mutantes)
Squier VM - Penny Lane (groupie's name in Almost Famous, but is for sale now so I will get a guitar and name it Sophie).

No. I just call it the standard slang for the instrument. The Rickenbacker 4003 is called "the Ric". The Squier Classic Vibes '51 P-bass is the "vintage p" and the Fender MIM Jazz bass is the "jazz". I call my Warwick Corvette Standard fretless simply "the fretless" as I own no other fretless.

My Schecter Stiletto 5 is called Skarlet, named after a character in Mortal Kombat because both are red, sexy and mean as all hell, and my Squier Jazz is named Charlotte after the recurring prostitute from a few Iron Maiden songs, because Harris was the main reason I wanted to learn bass.

"Christ Bass" - Washburn Classic 6 string, with Christian artwork. Done with "Sharpie" by 17 yr. old daughter. Only thing I specified were the Cross markers.

"The Joker" - creamy-white Vester 5 strings.

"Red Hot Momma" - Vampyre REd Shecter Stilleto 6 the wife bought me for my b-day(I told her which one to get - douh!)

"Sally" is my favorite of the basses at the ranch. Strangely enough, Mustang Sally has never been played on it in my experience...

Well word of advice, never name one after a girlfriend... as of 2 months ago the name I gave my 6er was null and void, and havnt even begin to look for another.

Black Yamaha is called Matilda, squier jazz is sôsuke and my future rickenbacker will be either Excalibur or Guinevere. Not sure maybe it's silly but i find it shows affection for your prized axes.

My main squeeze is an '82 Carvin LB50 Koa "Taz", got him new almost 30 years ago, damn time flies. Right now he's a bit jealous cuz my other basses are all getting the groove time instead of him due to the gigs and recording at the moment.

"Verdine" a Peavey Verdine White (Sarzo) signiture model is a great sounding bass and getting much of the love these days as the sound is preferred by the band I'm gigging with and the new project that is recording.

"Toney" is a '82 Carvin LB50 Koa with EMG HB pups and 'passive' electronix gets used with the Southern Boogie band and also for lots of recordings, it's my P-Bass meets Alembic tone.
