Back on topic, I named my SR500 Bella because it means 'pretty' in Spanish, and that is one pretty bass.

How would this work with a drum set? Does the whole set get a name or would I have to name each drum and cymbal? This is NOT hypothetical as I have a drum set.

My friend has named his kick drum "Hamburger Wayne." The toms are collectively known as "The Bitches."

I've only named one bass which is a recently acquired Fenderbird. It's named "The Power" after the keyboard from Regular Show. It's mainly an in-joke between a few friends... I wouldn't call it that in front of my band mates and other musicians.

My Squier Jazz Classic Vibe is "Whisper", because she was my first bass, and I absolutely lacked confidence playing...so my playing was barely above a whisper.

My new Epi Viola is "Thumper" (after the Disney rabbit).

I've had piles of basses and never thought of naming one until I got my '95 Thumb NT 6. It is definitely "Big Sis" to all my other instruments. It's a heavyweight in looks, sound, and actual weight.

Yeah that's the first thing to do when someone doesn't agree with you naming your basses...insult their religion. Some people :scowl:

My Warwick has my screen name on here...Vanilla Thunder. My blue P-bass is named Daphne, my jazz bass is unnamed as of now, and i might call my bubinga Peavey Cirrus 5'er "Chocolate Thunder" to go along with my Warwick.
