Yes, I now recognize that it's been discussed before. My bad. I should have done a search before I posted. Still, some interesting names and takes here. Particularly impressed with "Homer"!This thread has come up before and I found out what a divisive issue this is. I think this is up there with "tonewood" and the likes.
I have names for all my basses. I like my basses more than most people and they have names.
Though I don't see why it would be a divisive issue. There's no right or wrong in naming something. Some people do, some people don't. It's not as subjective as "tonewood". It doesn't bother me that people name their instruments. It's kind of endearing in some weird way. But, I just can't see myself ever naming mine. It's "my Rickenbacker" or "my fender" for me...though "Ric" seems like an obvious choice, I've never called it that.
