What's Your Bass/Guitar's Name?

I’ve never felt the need to give my basses, cars, or anything I own a name, other than a pet. I think most people do, however,

So, just wondering, what’re your basses’ names (& model?) and why?

I always name my keepers, it's more fun and imparts a bit of personality, but YMMV.

B.B.King had “Lucille”…I’m not judging, it’s fine for those who do name your instrument- just not even sure who or what or how I would ever go about doing so.

(“Roast Malone” is pretty funny.)

Not proper names , but I often refer to them by their birth year : “the 66”, “the 72”, etc.

Since someone mentioned cars , I do often refer to them by their names : the Clio , the Ibiza, the Mégane, The 911, etc, as opposed to “my car” or “your car”.

My NS/Stick is called my NS/Stick.
My Tune TWB63OB fretted is called my fretted TWB.
My Tune TWB63OB fretless is called my fretless TWB.
And my Ibanez BTB676 is called my BTB.

For the first time ever, my car has a name, because someone said something funny about it and an old TV character popped into my head and it stuck. Never told anyone what it is, but the name does make me chuckle sometimes.

Basses are usually just by the model number or brand name or sometimes colour as it's rare to have duplicates.

I have several instruments which use the same cases so, even if just for ease of "grabbing the bass I want", they all have names.

I have a '79 P-Bass which is "Fiesta" Red (I DESPISE that color). The guy who owned it before me called it "The Tomato". Because of the color, I named her "Lucille" (as in Ball; not as a reference to B.B. King).

I have two '93 Epiphone basses. They're both white. One is the "Accu-bass" (a P-bass knock-off which comes pretty close to its intended purpose). Her name is "Khloe" (as in: "Karsashian" because she's a white girl with a fat bottom end).

The other was Epiphone's "answer" to the P/J bass. Her name is "Caitlyn" (as in "Jenner" because she's not sure if she wants to be a P or a J).

I have a '17 SR300E which has a "Black Pearl Fade" finish. her name is "Cheron" (ask a Star Trek fan).

I have a 2021 SR2600 with the "Cerulean Blue" finish. Her name is "Smurfette".

I name all my instruments (and weapons. Though this is more of a luck/superstition thing). I have:

4 Les Pauls, 2 Strats, 6 Ibanezes (which use the same case), 2 Jackson Randy Rhoads Vs, and 2 Flying Vs (one is a knock-off, but it "lives" in an Epiphone V case).

I have names for all my basses. I like my basses more than most people and they have names.
