I like using chorus on bass. that's usually my always on effect. I own a danelectro cool cat cc-1 chorus pedal. great sounding chorus pedal for the price. it also sounds awesome with distortion effects.

My amp is an Acoustic B200H with the matching 4x10. The amp by itself is loud and bassy, but the mid range was always kind of muddy. I used a late 70's Mann P-Bass copy and an Ibanez SR405QM. I couldn't get the sound I was looking for.

So I got an MXR Bass DI+. This pedal is exactly what I needed. It has a gate that stops most feedback and all hum, the tone is shaped perfectly for what I needed. The dirty effect is ok, kind of like a Boss Distortion. Dial it back a little and it adds some grit. Plus it is a killer DI, way better than the DI on the amp.

I just got the Morley Cliff Burton Tribute Power Fuzz Wah. I haven't been able to use it with my set up yet, just at the house with my little amp. I have the original Telco Morley Power Fuzz Wah, the late 70's model with the electro optical sensor. I freaking loved that pedal!! I used to play in a Brutal Truth style grindcore band. Then, my set up was PBass tuned to B > ProCo Rat > Morley Power Fuzz Wah > DOD Analog Delay > Ampeg SVT > Apmeg 8x10. MONSTER tone.

3Leaf, You're Doom. Love how I can go from synthy, to distortion to fuzz with a few small tweaks and a change in playing dynamics. Also it interacts with other pedals so nicely as well.
Love the form factor too.

It's still the EHX Qballs for me. It provides every kind of envelope filter sweep I want and so many more! Analogman modded mine with the distortion pot to the outside, and with a volume knob. Both mods are VERY useful.

Well as we move on, my new favorite has been a rediscovered original MXR Distortion+ from 1978 that I have been using on guitar for a while and never tried on bass. And that was a mistake. The pedal is amazing for a lowish overdrive and really thumps along. It would probably benefit from a blender so I have one on the way.

The EHX Organ Machines are pretty special too. Talk about a whole new sound for your arsenal.

My lovely synth modded Boss OC-2 has been indispensable for me, the square wave into a fuzz sounds MONSTROUS.

I love my Boss LS-2 and my Pigtronix EP-2 but for the music I'm making currently I'm leaning more on the octave.

The VT Deluxe is the one that gets the biggest workout because it does double duty as a splitter for when I double on upright and because it does speaker sim and a couple different overdrives in my DI line, functions which are pretty necessary for me. But I'm also lost without my MXR 6-Band EQ for the upright, as it's perfect for accenting freqs I want and bagging freqs I don't, plus I don't want the VTD's speaker sim on the upright. However, I reserve the right to change my mind in the NF, as I'm likely going to pick up a regular VT for speaker sim purposes and go back to using separate pedals because I'm about to get a couple that I predict will rule.
