If it has a natural finish (with probably an ash body) and a black PG -- oh, and a maple fretboard -- it's probably my favorite-looking bass du jour. A Dimension IV, today.

Same here, my first real bass back in 1977 or so was a natural ash P Bass with a maple board and a black pickguard. That is a seriously classy look and there has always been a place in my heart for it, that and Elizabeth Hurley.
