I just had to make a choice between a T40 and a Jag. I love my Jag! Best tone out of any FMIC product I have ever played. The T40 is next... but it will have to wait a few more years.

I got serious GAS atm due to the fact I'm ACTUALLY gunna have money soon! (Damn me an my wanting a home studio T_T It's gunna take up most of the money I'm getting)

Barefaced Big One
Custom Ran 5-string bass...Jackson Kelly shape body, swamp ash body (maybe chambered? Haven't decided, I like the idea of a really light bass ) with bloodwood top. EMG P5 in neck/sweet spot an EMG 40TW in bridge. One abalone inlay at the 11th-13th fret, a big ouroboros snake!!! probably a 3A flamed Maple neck with a wenge fretboard...And the headstock to die for! (http://www.ranguitars.com/imi/galeria/img/vIMG_5664.jpg the top triangle being made of bloodwood to match the body, of course!)

Yup, I think I'd actually commit murder for that bass...

NOT POSSIBLE COZ OF MONEY:

G&L ASAT (not sure of colour)
G&L ASAT semi-hollow (orange with white binding...someone on here's got one)
Stingray 4, translucent teal 3 eq + piezo (think this colours gone now...)

I've also been thinking of a couple j-bodied/necked completely different-pickuped custom models...

...More likely is a "so-cheap-I-don't-care-what-happens-to-it" backup first...

Tough choice, huh? But you prob made the right one those jags are going out and will cost you a decent amount more soon. You'll prob still be able to pull a T-40 for around or under $500 on ebay for the next year or so at least.

The thing for me is I REALLY NEED A P so I'm looking at GAS upon GAS.

I now have a tube amp (Ampeg V-4B). Now a passive P-Bass would be nice. A Warmoth P-Bass, ash body in cherry sunburst, 2 Dimarzio or Fender P's (like the old Fender Elite PII), ebony or rosewood J-neck (b'n'b = blocks and binding), gold Schaller hardware.

Hmmmmm......... Anything!!!! I'd settle for a trashy-ass Hondo bass!!! Sorry,I take that (about the Hondo) back,guys.
And you ask,"Steve,why not go out and buy a new/used bass???"
Not being a braggart or anything,but sure,I could go out,and pay cash-on-the-barrel-head for (insert fantasy bass here),right this very second.
Bottom line is,I'm scared that I won't like what I buy.Then,I'd have to sell or trade for less. THAT WOULD K-I-L-L ME!!!! Or worse,if I did start buying basses & gear,it would be my version of crack. I wouldn't stop buying.
I'm tying up virtually EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR that I make,on buying up rental property.

So,I guess you could say that I have...... "Real-estate G.A.S.??"

the urge to get a lakland (skyline) joe osborn 5 has kicked in for me pretty bad in the last few weeks. It's going to take a decent amount of selling and saving but I hope to get there in a few months. I would probably go down to 2 basses for that (80's MIJ P, Lakie JO5)

I sold a MIM Pbass to fund my Jag. I really WANTED to like a Pbass... but I just don't. It had labella flats on it and a pickup cover and ashtray. It was a really nice looking and sounding bass. I just didn't love it. I love the Jag.

The new Fender American Standard P basses are amazing!!! So light and easy to play with that thick sound. Gorgeous!
