I've always thought I'd never obtain a custom 4 string Carl Thompson bass. I literally thought it would never happen. It was truly my white whale. Then I friggin got one! I still can't even believe I have one. Nowhere to go from here!

Not a bass, but my white whale is a Lustre compressor pedal by Effectornix. Just a few were made and I'm not really sure why I want one.

The late 70s Music Man Stingray Bass that I had to sell 20+ years ago to pay bills. I had bought it brand new.
Maple neck, Ash body (natural finish, beautiful wood grain.)
File that under, 'The One that got away'. (Sigh........)

Don't really have one, but a buddy of mine owned a '76 P-bass natural ash that must have weighed about 5.5 to 6 pounds, super light. It was so dang "resonant", that it was kinda loud when unplugged. When plugged in, it sounded like the bass tone on every hit song from '63 to '83, and I could have bought for $600 in the mid 90s.

Re-reading what I just wrote reminds me it was a white whale that weighed about as much as a white guppie.....
