What's your "White Whale" bass?

My WW bass is the Zon Sonus Custom 5 with a flame myrtle top that was featured in an early Zon catalog. I got to play the bass while visiting with Joe at his first shop in Redwood City, the one on Middlefield Ave. but at the time the bass was not for sale. When it finally did come up for sale it went before I had a chance to buy it.

...Is there a significant difference between that & a 4004C?...

From what I recall they are virtually identical outside of the 4004LK having binding on the body and neck. The 4004LK is a bit heavier, too, as it does not have the extreme body contours of the 4004C, plus the additional HB-1. But, the necks are essentially the same dimensions.

I understand Lemmy only used the bridge pickup, so I'm not even sure why RIC bothered putting 3 pickups on it.

Marleaux Consat 5 string Bass, I have a few more Basses in mind but that Bass really gets my attention and its too much money for me right now. That natural exotic wood with gold hardware, AWESOME!!!!

They actually made a few of those in a 5 as well. I remember thinking that was a sexy bass when they first came out. If I came across a 5, I would probably snag it. Especially if it came in one of those typical late 80s early 90s Aqua or Purple colors. Go bright or go home!
