When it's NBD, how many times do you check delivery progress?

I've been wanting an acoustic bass so I can noodle around in the front porch or back yard, and also a fretless bass. I found an okay (not great) deal on an average acoustic fretless bass so thought what the heck, let's try it out! And today's the day! Loaded on the truck at around 3am, out for delivery at about 9am, and scheduled to arrive by EOD. 'Been hitting "refresh" several times on the app since early this morning :) I'm working from home, parked myself by the window looking out into the street, and ready to welcome the UPS person with open arms!

When it's NBD for you, do you still get that thrill and keep on checking delivery progress?

I check too much.
My bass was in Horsham Pa at 10:05 PM last night, one stop away from its fnal destination at the UPS warehouse in Lawnside NJ. Took UPS 4 days to update the status from the pont of departure in Phoenix on Saturday. Just checked two minutes ago. Still in Horsham, about 35 minutes away. Bass was supposed to be delivered tomorrow but I requested picking it up instead, then I can check right there and make sure everything is okay. Was hoping to receive notification that it was in Lawnside today, but...
I guess I'll probably check two or three times more before the day is done.
I mean, I'm not expecting a Squier Affinity Jazz or a Ibanez Talman TMB 100, I'm waiting on a thousand-dollar Japanese-made Bacchus...I've been wanting one for years.

Mobile apps are best. I like to see it headed in the right direction. This bass will be here tomorrow!

My last bass-related purchases were earlier this year, right about when Covid-19 became a concern (AM Fender Jazz 5, Ampeg Scrambler pedal). Figuring I'd have to quarantine them for a week, I only paid attention to delivery status to make sure I'd be around to receive them. So my last NBD went from "I hope it's coming today!" to "oh crap, hope it's not coming today."

I'm like a dog waiting for it's master to set down the food bowl! Haha.

I use the UPS map on my comuter and chase the truck around the neighborhood virtually :)

I was expecting a UPS delivery one day, and had to run an errand. I saw a UPS truck at where I was, kept staring at it, until the driver said "can I help you?". He must've thought I was creepy. So I explained why, he askEd for my address, and said I'm not on his route but he knew the guy who was. I told him I was expecting a bass and he laughed because he was a bass player too!
