When it's NBD, how many times do you check delivery progress?

I got a new one today & I will not wait for it at home if I can set the delivery to will-call pickup.
Carriers love to transpose my address with another nearby & deliver to the wrong address.

If it's will-call pickup, you can go about your business & your phone can alert you with a text when it's ready for pickup.
When it's UPS, I get my package about 5 hours earlier than if I waited at home.

Issues with mail system lead me to go to using a Mailboxes Etc. as my mailing address. So once a package arrives, I get an email notice that it's there. Hardest part is trying to get there before closing the day the package arrives.

I just choose to have tracking notifications on my phone sent by text so that I don't have to check.

Same here. Then I don't have to keep checking. I get a text for any change/update that would appear if I checked online.

Nah, I've had packages "Out for delivery" get delayed until the next day.

last week I used the USP tracker to follow the truck on delivery day. He was so frustratingly close to my house (the route passed right by my house hours before delivering it to me for some reason) that I caught up to the truck asked the driver if he'd be allowed to give it me if the address matched my ID, and he was cool with it. Bonus is that it couldn't get stolen from my porch; that's been a huge problem with deliveries in my town.

Anything I order I have to stay on top of delivery to make sure I'm home listening for UPS or whomever.

They leave my packages outside the yard and if I don't get out there my dogs will get ahold of the package and chew it up.

We live out in the country but there's still the possibility of theft as well.

Both fedex and ups drivers are afraid to come up to the house because of the dogs.

I have a box out there that will protect pagages from the elements but if it's too big to fit, they sit it on the ground.

I've been having them hold large packages and drive 30 minutes to town to get them.
