When you play with a pick, what kind do you use?

I like the Dunlop 1.2mm, but whatever I can beg,borrow,steal will work

Fender 351 Delrin 1.0 on fresh strings, Fender 351 standard heavy on worn-in strings.

I also like planet waves heavy if I need more articulation. They are a bit pointier than the Fenders.

Dunlop yellow Tortex 73mm triangles. Used the standards but once I tried the triangle that was it.

I don't really have any idea what famous pick players have used, but ime the thickness and even the type of material from which they're made can impact the sound you get with them.

I wouldn't say I'm normally a pick player, but I have played with a number of bands in the past, for periods of a few years or more, where I played pick style exclusively with those bands. I found the Claytons pretty early on in my playing days, like 15-20 yrs ago or so, and they've been my preferred pick since then. I've tried a lot of them too.

I never thought I'd pay so much for a pick, but I can't seem to go back to "normal" picks after using either of these.

Uhhm, what's a pick?
No really, if I need a pick sound I just use
the nail of my index finger to get that tone.

I've never used picks on bass until recently. I ordered maybe 20 or so (all Dunlop) in different materials and thicknesses to just try out as much as I could. So far I've narrowed them down to:

500 (delrin) 1.14 mm
Ultex 1.14 mm
Gator 1.14 and 1.5 mm
Tortex 1.14 mm

Well, I learned something new today. I thought this was a joke as I'd never heard or seen a 'felt' pick. Are these designed to mimic the warmth and roundness of finger style?

We sold them in our defunct music store, although the style we had was a big larger and more rounded than the ones in the picture. They were marketed toward ukelele players.

I actually kept a couple around and I use them once in awhile.... surprisingly it produces a nice effect, but I can't use them for long because they disintegrate after awhile. I don't really like playing with plastic picks because I don't like the sound for blues music, but my fingers are sensitive and won't last four sets without it, so I found these as a compromise.

I rarely play with a pick. I use a quarter if the situation calls for one. It's fun!
