Well, "ROON" comes from a drunken rant. My best friend Marco and I were sitting on the couch playing Xbox, absolutely WASTED. Marco decided he would start talking in a Scooby-Doo voice for the rest of the evening. He started rambling on about poon, and because of the drunken slur and Scooby voice, it came out;

"ROOOOOOOOOON!!!!"

It was just so funny at the time that we still say it today. Good times, good times indeed.

My tag "Mjolnir" is usually thought to be a reference to Halo (the name of the Spartans' armor) but it's actually a reference to Thor's hammer. I'm big on Norse Mythology.

2730 is a number I pulled out of me Arse because Mjolnir by itself was taken the first time I registered for the tag, I think it was for an e-mail address.

When I got my first job as a television engineer, I had to work the Sunday shift. I would go to work right after church, so to keep from getting stuff like solder paste all over my good clothes, i used to wear a long labcoat. That led to someone I worked with calling me Dr. Video. Someone else later on got that mixed up, and called me Cap'n Video because he had seen something about the old kids' show "Captain Video and the Video Rangers". That's the one that stuck.

Keeping with the professional motif, I've been known on other boards as xmtrdude. Xmtr is an abbreviation used for transmitter, the type of equipment I've mainly specialized in.
