Where did your TB user name come from?

I've used the same handle consistently since I started using it on BBSs around a decade or so ago.

It's semi-original in that it was a name I created, but in the style of the names for the various wizards in David Eddings' Belgariad series. In it all of the male wizards have the prefix "Bel" applied to their names. Thus with names like Belgarath, Beltira, Beldin, Belgarion... well, Belgand seemed to fit right in.

I chose it because I wanted a unique name that I could use online without ever having to worry about someone else having taken it first. I wanted something that read like a name as well, not a sort of description and that was more or less totally neutral with respect to anyplace I might want to use it. By using it consistently everywhere and not having any competition it also means that it's an easy way to identify me as the exact same person online regardless of where you might see my name.

Honestly, I've been using it for so long and so consistently that at this point it feels more like a second middle name more than anything.

Well, as if my screen name isn't obvious, it came from me bandmates when I was but a wee lad of 15.

Fancied meself to be the next Geddy Lee or something, and we were learning some 70's rocker with a boring 'pump the root eights' bass line, so I looked over at the guitarist and said 'Do you want me to stick to the original or should I embellish it a little?', and, as they say, the rest is history!

I was really embarrassed a few months later when my drummer introduced us between songs at a gig, and referred to me as 'Jeff - The Embellisher! - Wade':D

Years ago when CB radios were all the rage, I was thinking of getting one. I got as far as dreaming up a "handle", Lazylion. 10-4 good buddy! Never got the radio, but in the early 90s, when I signed up for email on Yahoo, I remembered the handle and used it. I figured it would work for TB as well.

Also, I watch the Nature channel sometimes. I always enjoy seeing those lions lounging around in the African sun. Probably because I'm a Leo...
