Haha... Yeah, my students are always surprised when I tell them that I play bass or video games, or when they see me outside of school and I'm wearing jeans and a band t-shirt.

It's like some of them don't realize that teachers aren't chryogenically frozen from 3pm to 7am. I'm sure the other teachers here can verify.

I forgot to state the obvious: i commend you for what you're doing. If you're half as good as some of my teachers growing up, you're providing one of the greatest services to the community anyone ever could.

Part of my 'big plan' is to teach on the side someday. Extra credit for off-topic, non-chemistry random bass questions answered correctly. I can see it now:
"Victor wooten plays a ______ bass"

Automotive powertrain Design Engineer for 18 years now. I plan to support my hobbies in retirement (hopefully 20 years from now) gigging on the bass and as a luthier.
I do like to eat pizza, though!
