I really would like a American telecaster with a f hole and a upside down headstock. String through with jazz pickups. Yeah.

reissue an MIA late 60's telecaster bass with custom shop pickup. 1 5/8" nut would be nice but with the chunky neck profile, then offer it in the original colors too.
I can play any bass I want and I can afford any bass I want, even an MTD. While I do have a few others, the ones that get almost all my calls for the past 10 years are Fenders. I find it more than just a little insulting that anti-Fender people think people only buy Fenders because of peer pressure and lack of finances and would really rather play something else.
They don't seem to be doing a good job at the moment, being $257 million in debt.
They need to fire some management and hire a rather good design team.

They would sell exactly one of these.

The Dimension doesn't look booteeky to me, just looks like a nuts 'n bolts, feature-laden workhorse bass, sans any bling. Might be awesome, might suck. We'll see.
People want different, but the same from Fender. This guy (and I'm not knocking him) wants Fender to GO BACK and REDO things they have already done (with original colors no less). Now, here's my honest question for people like this. When he says "in the original colors", is he planning on buying ONE OF EACH color? Uh.... nope. So he want Fender to go back and drag out ANOTHER old model, in multiple colors, so he can POSSIBLY buy ONE of those colors.
I'm really not trashing anybody here. I apologize if it seems that way. But THIS is what people sit around day dreaming about from Fender. Drag out all the old models (some of which never sold all that well when they were FIRST released) so that we can go into shops a remember the glory days of garage bands gone by.
I say, keep the big four (P,J,Tele,Strat) and MOVE ON. Do something BOLD and NEW. I think the Dimension is very cool. But it wasn't a BOLD move. Break the mold and go for something entirely NOT Fender.
I also said if people are hiring you, you either do what they want or you will lose the gig(I think you put up a post recently about regrets over playing styles being forced upon you. Clearly, you of all people understand what pressure will do to your choices of style and gear.)
