Where's all the rack mount tuners?

After years of using a pedal tuner, I finally decided to get a rack mount tuner. More than anything it's just an attempt to try something new. FWIW, it seems Korg no longer makes a rack mount tuner. All I find new are either a Behringer or a Peterson. Any other makes? What am I missing? Anyone know where to get a Korg? Yikes.....

You can still find Korgs on the 'bay (used).

There are usually a bunch on eBay. I picked up a Korg DTR-1000 there recently. I like the rack-mount for home use because I can see it from across the room. I've never performed with it, though. The unit is not very deep, so you could probably rig something up so it sits near a stage monitor or over your pedal board.

doesn't this require you to turn around and tune. I'd think that would be a pain. What about quick tuning in between sections or what have you?

Actually, I tune my bass just before a show and then check it just before the next set starts. I find I rarely have to adjust my tuning after that initial "before the show starts" tuning. This instrument simply stays in tune. So I don't think I'd have to do a lot of turning around or quick tuning between sets.

Do I need this rack mount tuner? Heck no... but I've had my Boss pedal tuner for years now and thought I'd just re-visit the whole "how I tune" section of my life and see if there's a better way to do it.

And thoughts on the Behringer unit? I know that brand doesn't get a lot of love here, but really... how bad could it be?

If that was the case, I'd know which string was out of tune and I'd retune it while I was playing. Its a lot easier than it sounds.

Just got a Sabine RT7000 since I have a barely functional floor unit. Preliminary tests are great and it helps to have a big honkin LED behind you to tell you if you're in tune or not.

I also use a wireless and I don't like things cluttering the floor around me. I can look at my amp from far away and still tune the thing. Works great.

Also FWIW Peterson makes an awesome tuner. But my question is, why're you buying new?:p

Love my rack mount tuner. Still dont understand why more people don't use them. I don't like peddles cluttering up the floor. Really think that it just looks more professional. I have a power amp, tuner and power conditioner in a rack sitting on top of my 2 210 cabs and it looks and functions great. Check tuning before I start and if something doesn't sound right it is bright and clear from a good distance away. I use a korg that I bought from a guy on cl for $75 I think. Great purchase love having it. I started thinking I needed to go to a floor tuner like everyone else, but you have to do what you want and like. I did and love it. With all that said I would stay away from the berringer but look for a good used korg.

that's just nuts to say that in an effects forum.

A rack tuner would free up space on ur' board for better more important things. I so want a 1/3 or 1/2 sized rack tuner, I know roland made one once but they failed the world by not keeping up with it:mad: Yes, the whole world! God [or what have you] killed many kittens that day:bawl:

edit:
You know if I had roadies and techs and **** I'd totally have a The Edge type of rack and just use a midi switcher for added coolness:bassist:
