I'm conducting a poll on a few basses I've been looking at (6 strings) and was interested in your input. . . . . . Whatever the poll shows doesn't necessarly mean that it will be the route I'd be going, . . . . just a curiosity on my part as to your input.

The bass models I've considered (in no particular order):

1. A friends "slightly used" (AND PURPLE) Roscoe LG 3006. . . He's asking too much ($2,200), but there it is.

2. A Stambaugh double cut.

3. A GW Bass (Bass Kahuna) DC-1.

4. Whenever they start taking orders, a Nordstrand NJ Deluxe.

5. Buy Warmoth Gecko 6 parts, Bartolini electronics from bestbassgear.com

Thanks for your participation. If you have a Write In vote, feel free, but I'm pretty much decided on these 5 choices.

Poll has been set for 60 days, . . . .although I'm sure it won't actually take that long for you all to choose. :o

My two complaints on the Roscoe is:

1. It is the transluscent purple body and head.

2. I'd prefer mandolin frets.

Other than those two things, I'm sure it would be an excellent bass.

As far as the Nordstrand, I prefer a more traditional look, thus the double cut. . . . .regardless, they're not even taking orders at the moment, but their quality would be worth the wait, I'm sure! :smug:

Find another used Roscoe 3006. You should be able to find a nice one for $1800-1900. Unfortunately, you're not likely to find a used one with mandolin frets.

Seems like the votes are already in!!
:p

Oh - purple....yeah, that puts a different spin on it. Check out Bassmanbob's Roscoe in the classifieds here! Or the Roscoe 7 string on ebay. I'm looking at the same fret issue - custom made is becoming more and more the option.

Yeah, that's why I said that the results don't necessarily mean that I'd be going that route. The fret issue is an important one for me, so yes, custom is mostly likely the way I'll go. If that's the case, then this poll will still have validity because I'll make decisions based upon the best choice in the custom department.

I would go the Roscoe route...but then again that's easy for me to say since I already have. Seriously though the Roscoe or the Stambaugh would be my top two choices...but purple would make me think twice....
