Which amp for $1000?

Thanks everybody. I've ordered the 1001rb & the 2x212 neo cabs. Excited! I'll let you know what they're like :)
WOW! It is always a real exciting time for us bass players to get new gear. What a killer looking rig that is going to make!

Be sure to report back after band practice too. I'm interested in getting one of those cabs in exchange for my 410, so if you could let me know how they perform alone it would be tops.
BTW, if you don't risk toppling them over, stacking them vertically works best.

4 12'S stacked vertically will be awesome, if the footprint allows stability!

Glad you got a rig to hang with your new band. When I was jamming around with different groups I'd just bring in a combo, mainly as a monitor for myself, and DI out to there PA. Your gonna DI for a gig right? That way your tone can go to all the other monitors also. IDK though :). I've always wanted 12's, an I always wind up with 10's or 15's :(

yes, the band has an enormous PA and I will DI out to it for gigs. We rehearsed this afternoon and I used one of the 212 Neos. I was pushing it pretty dang hard! It sounded great though and the guys were pleased with the sound.

You're spot-on. The lead guitar amp is a Marshall JCM 900 Mk III High Gain Master Volume Head running 100W through a Marshall 1960A 300W cab. The other guitar player has 3 amp/cab combos but yesterday he was running a Marshall JVM 410 HJS 100W head through a 1960AV 280W cab. Maybe I don't need as much power as I thought. Great progress!
2-100 watt heads and 2-412 cabs? You'll probably still need a lot of bass rig.
