Which bass?

So I'm planning to buy a new bass in this month and I can't decide which one. I've been playing with a Dean Edge Q1 for 5 years and I decided that I need to get a new one. So these are the basses:

Warwick Thumb NT.
Fender American Jazz Deluxe (Ash body).

There is a huge difference when it comes about prices, so what is your opinion? Which one would you choose?

Well, what genre of music do you play mostly? Do you want something more diverse or something that is a little more against the grain? Would you like a slim comfy neck or a chunky one? Active or passive? Aggressive or laid back more?

Here is what I would say
THe awarick will be very heavy the Jazz bass won't. So if weight is an issue then the warwick isnot for you.
They will sound very different. Nothing sounds like a warwick and if you like that sound nothing else will sound like it. So it really depends on the sound you going for.
You should definately try both if you can

I too would go off how your ears perceive each and what you are trying to get out of the bass. I have always been partial to Fender's mainly because that's pretty much all I ever played, however I mostly played Precision's.

I hear the Thumb as being a bit more aggressive and punchy. Definitely great for rock, though I think with the right eq and technique it could still be just as versatile as the jazz. Personally I prefer the Warwick just for the thicker, more woody tone.

I don't have any concerns about the weight of a bass, I've seen a lot of video reviews of both basses, but my problem is that I play many genres of music from Metal to Tex Mex or Trip Hop whatever and if for instance I buy the Jazz bass I won't be able to play metal, but the Warwcik seems to me to fit everything, especially the 6 string one, although the Jazz bass's slap sounds deeper and more groovy.

If you buy a jazz bass you won't be able to play metal? Where did you get that silly idea?

I agree with this post. I liked the tone of the Warwick but the weight and chuncky neck - almost like a baseball bat- was a little too much for me

IMO, you'd be better off with the jazz then. That's just my thoughts.
