which bass's look has grown on you?

Jazz basses for sure. I never used to like them until I started reading Talkbass and it seemed everybody has one or has had one at some point. I never liked the big offset body. They've definitely grown on me. Singlecuts also have grown on me though I don't know if I'd want to own one. Bongos...never played one so I can't really judge. They seem like they'd feel really funny, and maybe that's a good thing. Ritters still seem a bit odd to me but I can see the appeal. I've never liked the round pickguard of the Stingray but it's growing on me too. I guess the longer I'm here the more accepting I get.

Now that is an explanation I understand! Thanks :)

For me, I started out preferring basses with smaller bodies, but these days, I find myself liking the aesthetics of larger-bodied instruments. Something along the lines of this beautiful LeCompte bass:

First time I saw a Bongo Bass it was my friend's orange 5-string. I'd never even seen a picture of one before.

me too, a little . . . that's one of those really risky things that can either turn out REALLY cool or REALLY dumb ... in the end I just dont think i'm cool enough to pull it off

a buddy of mine always has like sparkle finishes and those hairy get 'um get 'um straps and such. . . ima stick to Fender 3color bursts and black straps :hiding::D

I used to be a Rickenbacker snob ... some of us Rickenbacker owners seem to look down their nose at anything that wasn't made in the Rickenbacker factory in southern California.

Well these days I am really enjoying Fender style basses and Fenderbirds. I still play a Ric sometimes.

I use to think that Fender P's and Jazz basses were ugly. But then i staretd falling for the p basses, and then Ive fallen even harder for the Fender Jazz basses after i got my Fender Deluxe P Bass Special. I started useing the jazz pickup in it. I love the sound of it, and after i fell for the sound, i fell for the looks.

First time I saw an Fbass I wasn't too keen on the body shape. Now it's one of my very favorites if not the favorite.
