which cover do you like playing the most, and why? Curious.

We just added a couple of Fleetwood Mac songs (The Chain, Rhiannon). No biggie on bass, but the vocal work adds a challenge.

My favorite covers to play are not done in either of my bands (classic rock cover/original jazz) - I love to jam along with Motown/soul stuff when I just play for me. But I do sneak a bit of that groove into both scenes when I can get away with it and when it's appropriate.

If I had to pick my favorites from what we do play, I have to say that I'm enjoying the splash of newish, countryish stuff we do (Little Big Town, The Band Perry, etc).

The 70s stuff we do is old hand and I'm not a fan of the running eight note lines of the 80s stuff we do - come on gimme a little soul!

Just learned "Obsession Blues" by Michael McDonald for a band I'm in. My favourite cover to play is always changing, so that's a tough call, but one of my favs right now is "Melissa" by the Allman Brothers. Love the melodic basslines Berry Oakley crafted.

Favorite (in set list): Love Shack by the B-52s. Always fills the dance floor and is a ton of fun to sing with the ladies in my band.

I've just learned the long version of Loggins and Messina's Angry Eyes. It's for a new start up next week.
My favorite cover has to be Area's version of The Weight. At least lately. I'm going to bring Stevie Wonder's You Met Your Match to the new project. If it flies, it will be my favorite cover for all time.

Beatles "Don't Let Me Down" for a duo I am in.

Unfortunately the other guy hasn't learned it so last night's rehearsal was a bit of a shambles. He held up his hands and promised to learn it for next week.

To be fair I'm a retired widower so have lots of time to learn new songs. He has a full time high pressure job and twin teenage daughters who require "dad's taxi" constantly.
