Which Duncan MM pickup is used on Modulus Flea Bass

Thanks for the offer but I always keep things like that on hand for possible future use. I think I'm going to hold on to it.

If you really aren't happy with your Bart, ask around here and you'll get some good replacement suggestions. I've heard good things about Nordstrands.

I bought the Nordstrand alnico pickup (MM4.2 or something like that) and installed it - the improvement is HUGE. The string balance problem is SOLVED and the D and G strings sound much fuller. The overall sound of my bass is much clearer. I've played one gig with it so far and I love it already. I can't believe I played my Flea bass for over a year with that crappy Bart pu.
My origional Bartolini MM pickup is TRASH. Does anybody LIKE the sound of those?
I have an old Rick 4001 who's pickups got weak and I replaced them with Barts a couple of years ago and those don't sound good either. Muddy and dark. I should have bought Rick pickups.
Does Bartolini make a pickup that anybody LIKES?
My experience with them is 0 for 2.

same here, I install my lane poor yesterday, and I feel like my bart is ''trash'', but I've gotta admit, it's personal, and I think some people prefer barts.
The lane poor sounds awesome, it has got everything I need, but the Barto slap sound i more correct, but it still dark, and not as wonderfull as the LP unique sound!

Barts really kill the Flea bass! still, it's very personal too!

Iabanass where the heck did you find that LP??, PM me when you get a chance.

After reading this post and finding out that Modulus has SD pickups for my Flea 5 (I gotta replace my Bart), I gave them a call.

Although I want a LP over anything, I just (back)ordered the SD. There wasn't a problem at all, though I have to wait for 4-6 months for it.:bawl:

Anyway, if you wanna wait, you can order it from Modulus if you're a Flea owner.

I don't, I've owned many different barts on zons, dingwalls, modulii, roscoes, r-basses, thumbs, p-basses, etc. and have always disliked them. But it depends on what music you play I think...many, many people love them, in certain situations for many people they just cut through the mix better. Just not for me,

Yea me...I've been a long time fan of the P's and J's. :)
My style is mainly thumbwork and blues based lines. So I have either EMG's or Barts...depending on what I want out of my sound. I dig the Darkness. :p

Not to steal the thread...but how are Delano's ?
