I'm enjoying my recently acquired '74. It's not quite collectors grade, but it's original where it counts, weighs 8.5 lbs and sounds great.

Other than pre-cbs, I think 73-4 might be some of the best years for p-basses

I'd have to say my all-original '59 rules the roost.

Followed closely in a second place tie between my all-original '66 and 2013 Custom Shop Pino Palladino.

Third place is my 2015 Custom Shop '64 Precision Relic in Daphne Blue


Followed in fourth place by my 2003 CIJ '54 Precision Reissue in Pink Paisley

Honestly, it's more the pickup than any individual bass. On the whole, I take a utilitarian perspective, in that they're wood and metal bits and some wire-y stuff around the middle. That said, the G&L MFD-1/SB-1 (by a wide margin) and the Lindy Fralin that came in the older Laklands have been my favorites so far.

I'm fortunate to have two Precision-type basses that make me smile each time I pick one up to play; my Fender AVRI '63 and La Bella Olinto.

Properly worn wood on fender bodies always looks shiny, almost polished and dark. Relics seem to miss that.

I don't have one, but the Precision Elite II is definitely the coolest P that Fender has done.

Speaking of dual P's, does the Warwick Stryker count ?

My Very First "Real" Fender was a Precision Elite ll, Black with a Maple neck; and like a Fool,I totally ruined that Bass (makes me sick every time I think about it). I still have the neck, though it's now on a Jazz Bass body.

It's true, although not quite shiny - the wood-worn sections are polished from finger-oil and burnished from being rubbed repeatedly. Although the pick-guard wear is polished to a high gloss.

Stock single coil that came with the bass. I'll eventually get the Delano j.

Gluvhand and Templar, loving the lpb precisions with maple and black pickguards! I don't know why I don't see more of those, great combination.
