At this moment, it would have to be my modded SX P, because it is the "Ripper" version with an added Q-filter midrange cut as well as the standard tone control. After 30 years playing a Ripper, I knew that adding the mid-cut would offer a very easy way to shape the tone from deep and mellow to bold and aggressive. And that is still with the humble, stock SX P pickup.

This shows the stacked tone control knobs, with the Q being the inner control and the standard tone being the outer knob.

I love my Lakland Bob Glaub which is 3TSB with tort and a Jazz neck and LaBella 760FS. It makes very nice sounds and is not real heavy,

And I second that! I have several Am Ps, a couple Am Spec Ps, and a RW like yours, and it's become my frontline gigging bass due to its playability and sound. I bet if I had used a fine brass-tumbling medium it would have achieved a look much like acid-etch. In this case I had actually started off with a coffee can filled with large pebbles and small 1/2" stones, then followed up with slightly finer stones in the tumbler for a bit. Different grade media will produce results ranging from highly-polished to very coarse. If I wanted to I could do a finer run on it but to me this has the look of chrome with years of sweat AND abrasion. It looks much like my '71s does, virtually identical. Love that bass!

I always love the chance to post a pic .... The newly purchased stock 73 on the left has fast become my favorite bass ever. 8lbs and sings and growls!! But my Mutt player has seen hundreds of gigs and will always be "the one" in some way shape or form.........

I gigged with this one for a long time (note the cowboy hat and shirt!): it's a Classic '50s P with a QP pickup and TI Jazz Flats. I also have a sunburst AVRI '57 with the Tis.

But my current #1 (and for now, there is no #2) is my Classic '51 with a QP, Tis, four-saddle bridge, ELectrosocket and -- most importantly -- black pickguard screws:
